Unexplained infertility is a deeply isolating road to navigate.

Most couples start out overflowing with excitement to grow their family. The first six months feel normal, full of hope and anticipation. But six months turn into nine, and a quiet worry sets in as you begin considering a specialist. Suddenly, the path starts getting twisty. By the one-year mark, you’re sitting in a fertility clinic, and the journey to conceive starts feeling like a demanding second job.

That’s where Jared and Michelle were when they first came to see me, after two long years of trying to get pregnant. Doctors had previously found fibroids, which Michelle had surgically removed. Once cleared by her physician, they started trying again—yet pregnancy still eluded them. Seeing how overwhelmed she was, her doctor suggested acupuncture to address what might be the remaining culprit: chronic stress.

When I first met Michelle, that stress was written all over her face. Mechanically, there was no obvious reason she wasn’t conceiving.

“I just don’t understand why I can’t get pregnant,” Michelle shared. “Jared has two kids from his previous marriage, and we’re raising them together. I’m already a full-time mom, but I want the experience of carrying and having my own child. It has been such a long journey, and I really need help.”

Juggling a busy career, raising two stepchildren, and navigating a high-conflict co-parenting dynamic was taking a heavy toll on both Michelle and Jared. Recognizing that infertility is a shared experience, I began working with them as a team. Michelle came in twice a week on her own, and once a week, Jared joined her so they could receive treatment side-by-side.

Acupuncture has a profound effect on the nervous system. For Michelle, we focused on shifting her body out of fight-or-flight, boosting blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, and balancing her hormones. For Jared, we targeted reducing oxidative stress, optimizing sperm count, and easing the tension that can disrupt male hormonal health.

They were incredible patients—completely dedicated to the process. The effort paid off: six months into consistent care, Michelle delivered the good news that she was pregnant. I was over the moon for them.

Michelle continued her care with us throughout her entire pregnancy. During the first trimester, targeted herbal support helped keep her morning sickness manageable. As she progressed into her second and third trimesters, we focused on supporting her sleep and physical comfort. When her doctor recommended a scheduled Cesarean section, we provided gentle support right up until the day before delivery.

Soon after, they welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Kendall.

At Rose Gold, we feel deeply honored to have been part of Jared and Michelle’s story. Their road to parenthood had many twists and turns, but they didn’t have to walk it alone. Whether you’re looking for natural support before starting IVF or need an integrative partner to support you through an active IVF cycle, we are here to walk alongside you. Our greatest joy is helping our patients build the family of their dreams.
